Do we really have a Place for Holy Quran in our lives?

Of course, in my bookcase along side of Edith Hamilton and Bullfinch.

Who, exactly, is "we?" (And why do some of "us" have the sneaking suspicion that we're being preached at?)

It goes far beyond a suspicion. The presuppositions made by the OP are spurious.

As a literary text yes, other than that, no.

Allah Almighty has communicated with his creature through his book so that the man may know about what is right and what is wrong. Quran learning is a very noble act which every Muslim (man or woman) must perform. It will give him knowledge, bring him near to his creator and will be a proof of his good deeds on the Day of Judgment.

The Holy Prophet (SAW) said:“O people I am leaving behind among you the Holy Book (Quran) and the Sunnah (way of Prophet (SAW)), if you follow these in letter and spirit you will never be strayed.”
(Hakim Al-Mustadrik, Book1 Hadith 318)

May Allah bless every Muslim with the vision to know the importance of Quran and ability to learn it and teach it to others.

NO . . . absolutely NOT! It is a plagiarized Christianity . . . produced out of sibling rivalry and corrupted with intolerance and evil motivation for world conquest by barbarous means.

So you say...because that's what your particular belief system tells you. You'd have more chance of getting an audience if you showed some respect for other people's religion (or absence of religion) rather than trying to force yours down everyone else's throat.

You seem genuine and kind within these posts so far as I can see, but you do know you're being pretty narrow and preachy, right? Even though you may mean well, you might do better to think about how what you're saying effects people, and maybe try to phrase things in a way that does not alienate people who do NOT believe in, or want to believe in the quran. Were you to say instead, "I personally believe Allah blesses everyone, and I hope that some of you might take interest in learning all the positive things that the quran has to offer"...now that would be something that I think would make people warm up to you and what you say quite a bit more. Just my thoughts.

The "man", AND WOMAN, know very well about what is "right and wrong" simply by using our heads and our hearts. And it doesn't take having to read any book of any kind, "holy" or not. It's called being a sensitive and thinking human.

While I would tend to agree, in defense of these "holy" texts- there is certainly nothing wrong with investigating them, whether it be just for knowledge, or for spiritual food. Especially if it isn't the text of one's current religion/belief- in which case, I would always recommend doing some delving in order to broaden one's horizon. But with any of them, quoran, bible, whatever- one must first have the sense to be able to interpret and take from these texts that which will propel them further forward spiritually, NOT backwards...which is what usually happens to most of the yokels that live by them literally and as if their life depended on it. Which it doesn't...or SHOULDN'T, anyway. And if said yokels are literalists then yeah, put these novels right up there next to Alice in Wonderland...

2. No single book can be a "perfect guide" to any and all situations, unless it simply states something like "Be good and treat others with due respect". First, last and only page required.

3. The consequences written into the Qu'ran for disobedience or a total lack of belief in it are similar to those threatened in the bible. All aimed at creating an obedient "sheeple" congregation. In the case of the Qu'Ran, it seems bent on creating a population of warriors.

4. Think for yourself, deny any written text that tells you to go forth and kill your fellow man, and be at peace with the natural world.

5. Remember, when doing holy battle against some other equally "sheeplized" culture, they will also earnestly quote their "book" as they press the button to annihilate your side.

6. Meaning, the side with more firepower wins. Where does it warn you of that in the Qu'Ran?

Go in peace, brother!
Can't help but agree with all of your points...but particularly #2- right on. If jesus' teachings weren't so ridiculously all drawn out as they are in the bible, it would probably take less than a page to outline what he was trying to get across.

The quran didn't mention anything about the internet, the apollo missions, the iphone, tablets, dna etc etc.. I guess vaccines and modern medicine are not part of the muslim life. No electricity, running water, or modern farming techniques... get rid of them all.
No more antibiotics, aks, bullets, or anything that could be used as a bomb. Just the sword.
No more automotive vehicles, trains, planes.. only sail ships, horse, camels and donkeys.

Let see how long the billion strong Muslim population last with only the "perfect guideline for the human life".

But we won't see that happen will we. Every Muslim who decides to use modern knowledge clearly does not believe your book is a "perfect guideline for the human life".

This is a technique called self hypnosis. Where you repeat something enough times, you start to believe it really happen... Strange how phenomenon, or objects in reality don't rely on such brain washing techniques.

Strange how societies who do, do such a thing are far from perfect.
