We are moving to mississippi because of my husband's job at the nissan plant in canton. We would like to know which area is the best to live for us and our kids: madison? ridgeland? and which of these two has the best public schools? Thank you.

I would choose Madison over Ridgeland. I think the public schools in both are about the same. You might want to look in the Gluckstadt area. It is currently unincorporated, although there is quite a bit of discussion going on about incorporation. There is a brand new high school getting set to open Germantown High School

It would be closer to your husband's work, but it is still a short drive to Madison.

I agree, I moved to Madison for the same reason in 2002. Originally lived in HArvey Crossing which is in Madison county, has a Canton address.
I've since moved into Madison the City and love it. For schools and home values, I would stick with Madison.

It's been over a decade, but I once lived in Ridgeland and worked in Madison. At the time Madison was the nicer area, more of a pure bedroom suburb/community. But it's grown since then. I still think Madison is the better of the two.
