How about we end the foolishness and get back to what this topic was intended to be about.

I came across a Clarion-Ledger article from November that mentioned there will be two levels of parking below the apartments, which are scheduled to break ground early this year:

Luxury apartments coming to District at Eastover

Can someone block Neshomamench from the forum? They are obviously a troll, & they're spamming the thread.

But anyway ... Yes that article does talk about the parking!

Driving by today and I noticed what looked like a large concrete ramp leading to the garage entrance I suppose.

I have found this to be one of the banes of a lot of places but certainly particular to Mississippi....he who says what we dont like (or understand) should be silenced.

I only saw two empty spaces: the former Montgomery Ace Hardware, and the former ice cream shop next to Thompson Wireless. Are some other businesses leaving?

I'm not sure. It's possible they haven't updated their website. Speaking of the ice cream shop, I also thought either a Pinkberry or Ben and Jerry's will do well at Maywood Mart. Again, these are attainable luxury brands that could bring Maywood more prominence.

I drove by the D@E this morning...the workers are just about at the fifth floor of the office building that will house the Baker Donaldson law firm. I've read elsewhere that the exterior should be finished by late summer. We're getting closer! #jxnrising

Any timeline for more than just the office building? When does retail start to appear?

Construction on the lofts is expected to start in the first quarter of this year.

Baker Donaldson will occupy the top three floors of the office building, so I'm not certain if the bottom will be reserved for other office space or retail/dining.
