I wonder why the Norrell Road area became a megasite and not the rural area NW of Jackson along Highway 49.

The site fronts the interstate. I would imagine a big company wants to be visible.

I wonder if Representative Bennie Thompson played a part in that deal. He's from Bolton.

The deal seems to have been made by the Gov. Bryant.

Thompson has been in the House of Representatives since 1993. He certainly has enough clout to have played a part.

Bolton has both the Interstate AND a railroad. Nissan would not have considered Madison County without both. Nissan, of course, has a lot of robotics, and so needed beautiful areas for its high-IQ labor (Madison-Ridgeland), as well as cheap places for the remainder of its labor (Canton). Continental Tire, I assume, does not face the same pressures, in terms of luring robotics experts. Southwest Jackson will be perfect for most of its labor. Many nice houses are totally in the right price range: 1839 Willaneel Dr, Jackson, MS 39204 | MLS #278950.J | Zillow

And the BEST news is that maybe this will stop the stampede of 'Anybody and Everybody' to Madison County. PLEEEEZE!!!! Get that Clinton-to-Byram Parkway started, NOW!!!!

There was a reason why a lot of people in the legislature were pissed off. This deal was done between Bryant and his goons behind people's backs. That got millions of dollars in tax incentives to come here. Thompson had nothing to do with it.

The real estate around Bolton was probably cheap until this deal was announced. Both Bolton and Edwards are poor towns.
that would certainly benefit from the tire factory.

Thanks Obama for all of these new skylines in nearly every large American city. That says a lot.
