Someone was watching footage of this on the news, and called me. "It's unreal! It's like there's an ARMY of them!"

Metal thieves destroying Jackson Enterprise Center - MSNewsNow.com - Jackson, MS

Here's an older, but better, link: Metal thieves raid old Jackson Enterprise Center - MSNewsNow.com - Jackson, MS

Terrible waste of a million square feet of quality construction... But I guess it beats having those folks breaking into Greenbrook Flowers... or people's homes.

Apparently, Jackson didn't really need or deserve a "Business Incubator": One arrested, charged for setting old Enterprise building on fir - MSNewsNow.com - Jackson, MS What was originally in that building?

We're shopping Manhattan and Long Island, right now, and so I can only drool over the conversion potential of such a structure (https://ny.curbed.com/2016/6/21/1199...-pictures-sold) - like maybe 100 ten-thousand-square-foot lofts? https://www.bespokerealestate.com/li...casesagharbor/ But the value and potential of buildings, is really about the presence (or absence) of HUMAN Capital. And Jackson seems fresh-out, when it comes to Human Capital.

If anyone can link to better video of this ongoing story, please do.

That's in one of the worst areas of Jackson.

No new development is coming to Jackson outside the downtown area (from Fondren to downtown) and that small pocket of what's left of NEJ around the Highland Village area. It's just not happening. I would just let the vagrants have the Highway 80 area.

Leadership for Jackson needs to be appointed instead of voted on. The people of Jackson are not competent enough to bring in real leadership. Sad.

I used to pass that building driving down Highway 80 and never actually realized what it was or what it originally was (a General Electric factory, based on Mouldy Old Schmo's post). That is a ton of water flooding into that building and is going to decimate whatever is left there. It won't be salvageable in any way.

My favorite part is how the vagrants had no reaction with 5-0 showed up.

According to the comments on that site, it sounds like it was still a GE plant as recently as the 1980s.
