I’ll be honest, I don’t see how you arrived at your questions so, whatever man.

The answer is, those industries help the core cities. Who cares if the existing citizens get jobs. New ones can do it. Those people have money to spend (new money). In Jackson. If you don’t understand this I can’t help you.

I guess you want them to dump money in the streets of Jackson like the Joker? I suspect I know what your agenda is. It’s certainly not the better good of ALL citizens of the Jackson area. Only some.

You listed specific industries in the metro and i asked how many employ Jacksonians by numbers or percantages which you couldn't answer specifically but a generally wave of the hand response. You don't know and that's fine.

I see your point on economic growth by metro but we both know that it's not distributed evenly across municipalities. I'm just want a thorough economic examination of the core first before metro. If industries are located outside of it then their not receiving additional taxes from property for example. The residents outside the core will spend money inside the core for various occasions as they have for years. Yet, How much improvement to the core's economy in relation to metro's economy? Same growth? Less, more?

No Sir, I like the joker but not a fan. More so a Lex Luther. My agenda is simply supporting my state which includes the core rigid city of Jackson. It's for all but let's not beat around the bush; all isn't networking with each other. As much corruption is pointed out in the core as is in the burbs.

In your mind, all metros may hold hands, sing kumbaya and work together towards the common purpose of prosperity for the entire metro area, unfortunately, that is not reality (no matter how much anyone wants it to be). The burbs don't work with Jackson and Jackson doesn't work with the burbs, it is just the way it is, they all blame the lack of cooperation on each other.

The Nissan plant is about 15 miles north of Jackson and opened in the early 2000s, about the same time Jackson was really bottoming out. Despite being close and employing around 6,000 employees, Nissan has had little impact on Jackson. It has had a huge positive impact on Madison, Gluckstadt, Flowood and other burbs though.

Hopefully, the Continental Plant will have a noticeable positive impact on Jackson.

Exactly. It seems like the city and the suburbs would rather fight each other than help one another out.

To be fair, that's somewhat statewide trend. Just replace burbs with counties. I've seen the same type of commentary in regards to my hometown ( Columbus) . The outskirts posters makes comments along the line of : " I'm glad I moved to the county", " The city got too much crime", " At least this doesn't happened in the county", etc.

Micropolitan cities deal with the same basics of metros just at a smaller scale of course.

You misunderstood the premise.

Is Jackson and the metro a better place to live due to Nissan and Continental? YES. Is Jackson and its metro better than it was before them? I say yes. But if they are worse in ways, it is NOT due to those 2 companies. It is due to other factors. It’s not debatable.

I never said anything about the different cities working together. So by all means, continue with that crusade.
