With a screened in patio facing Fortification St, after the lights, and parking around the corner on a side street, a little further out than Fenians, is a nice little Mexican restaurant. I can't remember the name but the prices and selection were good, everything fresh, friendly people. I ate there a few times; it has to be good or I don't go back. Anyone know the name?

Let me just say that Sal and Mookies is NOT authentic Mississippi cuisine. It's Italian....Helllllo???

Seriously, If you want food that's deeply rooted in the Mississippi lifestlye,
......go get a STAMPS BURGER!....

Not authentic Mississippi cuisine, but really good food.

As for authentic, try Jerry's Fish House in Florence, Beatty Street Grocery, and E and L Bar-B-Q on Bailey Avenue. All different, but all authentic Mississippi.

La Casuela's! It is delicious and they have great drink specials. I like to go there when it's raining and sit on the patio under the tin roof.

Haven't been to Jackson since we moved here (Greenville, SC) almost 10 yrs ago, but I LUVS me some Stamps burgers!! We frequented Little Tokyo, and Kiefer's is gre at as well. Que Sera was our Sunday afternoon Bloody Mary hangout kind of place. Primos in the Belhaven area burned while we lived in Jackson.... :-( Is Country (or is it Hungry?) Fisherman still there on Hwy 80? GREAT food, and FANTASTIC 'Nanner puddin'!!
