Default General Motors Plant in Jackson/Brandon

Can any of you tell me anything about the General Motors SPO in Jackson? We are having to relocate due to a closing plant, and I am trying to find out any information at all!!!! Is it a good plant to work in? Is it Air-conditioned? How is management? Is it in a decent neighborhood safety-wise?

How are home prices for an average 3/2 type house, can you get a nice place for $200K or less?

Thanks (I know its a lot of questions)

Default try local uaw

DKS.......I am not from the Jackson area...I had searched for GM news.
I took an early retirement from the GM MFD here in Pittsburgh on August 1st.
Just a suggestion.......why not contact the local UAW from the Jackson plant? They might be able to help you....I am assuming that the plant is UAW. Good Luck!

Hi, I've been to the SPO in Brandon and found it to be a nice facility with very good security. It's located in an area that is growing rapidly and is easily accessible.

Regarding application to GM SPO in Brandon: Unless things have changed since '06, first preference in hiring went to people already employed with GM or Delphi. Even then there was a long waiting list.
