This guy is such an asset to our city, and I hope all of his projects come to fruition. Now, he wants to transform the old James Eastland Post Office and U.S. Courthouse to a school of the arts that he hopes can compete with Juilliard. What do you think? Is this something that could work in Jackson, and do you think it'll have the economic and perception benefits that Watkins is hoping for?

That's awesome. David Watkins is single handedly transforming Jackson. I can't believe Harvey Johnson would rather turn that building into office space.

You have investors lined up, and a once in a lifetime chance at something that will put Mississippi on the board for the world to see and boost it's reputation, and provide a world class educational opportunity.... and you would rather put in office space?

Jackson and Mississippi already has the International Ballet Competition, an impressive history of art exhibits, and many renowned artists and entertainers, why not embrace and nurture that?

If Johnson doesn't entertain this idea, he should be out as mayor of Jackson. Does he not realize the economic impact this would bring to Jackson?
