I am also an avid indian food fan. I tried a place on baymeadows and was terribly let down. So I cannot tell you of a good place just yet but someone will but I will tell you that this place in particular is a no go (the Naan was horrible besides everything else). I think it was called "India's restaurant" There is a place called "Taj Indian Restaurant" on Southside Blvd. I will be trying it soon and I will let you know how it goes.

Thumbs up Taj is good

Taj is the place we go to now.

Sadly, 2 of our faves have closed down.....one of them was owned by the "Taj" people actually.

Taj is on Southside Blvd, as Lawstudent said, across from the Avenues Mall, near CompUSA and Pier One. Good buffet, nice owners.

I'd love to hear of other good places, I'm glad you started this thread Mroth .

Riveree,
Or in the south it would be Miss Riveree, You should consider a career in the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce. I hope one day to meet you and put your number in my cell phone so that whenever, wherever and however I need to know a place to shop, dine, sleep, or drink. I will have what is tantamount to a "Batman light" just shine it and all answers will be forthcoming. You really are an asset to the community. They should put you on the payroll. THX

Update,
We just returned from "Taj Indian Restaurant" it was really superb. I like you am a Naan fan and theirs was in the top 5 I have had. They actually had 2 types while we were there. The regular naan that has nothing on it and another naan with garlic, cilantro, and some other herbs I didnt recognize on it. Both were very tasty, we will return to the "taj".

I can't think of the name, but maybe you could check the yellow pages. I've heard there's a good Indian restaurant off of San Jose in Mandarin.

There was the one owned by the Taj people on San Jose behind Outback.....is that the one you mean? Sadly, it closed down .

Is there a new one over that way?

Lawstudent! I'm blushing ! Should I say something Southern here like 'well, I do declare Lawstudent, you are making me blush' !

Ha Ha Ha!

Really, I only answer the questions where I know something (or think I do!).

So.......are you saying I'm NOT getting paid for this? Rut-Row (in my best Scooby Doo voice )!!!
