We are both in our early twentys with a three month baby girl. We are having a hard time meeting friends. It seems anything you do cost to much money. We live Near Hodges & JTB.
Im not from here
Any ideas of what to do? Where to go?

It's a tough place to meet people. Everyone is friendly, but they don't welcome new people into their circle. Can't say I miss Jax.

However, there are tons of free things to do there. That's what we enjoyed most. You just need to watch the news - they provide information on all kinds of events.

Only problem is, if there is no Meetup group for what a person wants/looking for it cost a nice dollar to start one!

What about a newcomers group - or boating - dining out -- they're pretty popluar where I live (they even have dog groups, moms group, lots of various craft groups (ie kayaking, hiking, knitting, beading, cooking, board games etc). Might be best to join an existing one before starting one.

Well we look for things to do. I can't exactly move across town becouse of work and I'm in a lease right now. I've noticed that people have their clicks. What makes it really hard is our new baby.
Oh how do you find these groups?

Do both of you work? If mom stays home with the baby, then there are definitely some mothers' groups around town. Some churches also help organize mothers' groups, as well. It's definitely a challenge to find folks that want to hang out, who are in your same life situation. Fact is, it's tough to really go anywhere for any respectable amount of time and be with friends, because you've got a little one demanding attention when the time comes. We have a 2 kids, ages 6 and 3, so we're coming out of that point in our life where we're committed to the house. LOL Bottom line, it's really just a stage you're going through in life, and it'll get better. I always say that church is a good place to start, especially when you go to one that has small groups meeting outside of worship services.

I work full time plus some. And my wife works two days a week 3 hrs a day. There's a church near our house that we might start attending Chets Creek. My wife is having really bad depression. I work 48 & 72 hr shifts so she's stuck with the baby alot. We really need help. The only thing holding me strong is knowing the baby is going to grow up and make her daddy proud.
