Just a personal experience on those super dark tints:

My husband was driving a family member's car for a while and it had a very dark tint (of the illegal variety). It was okay by day, but by night visibility was very impaired - so much so that we almost never took that car out at night (drove mine instead).

So beware the super dark tints, they are illegal for good reason.

I use to have a bronco with limo tint (5%) all the way around and it did take getting use to at night.

5% means it lets in 5% of the light or blocks out 95% of it.

I know someone who had someone come to their home and did the tinting.

I am thinking about tinting, too.
