Hello everybody this is the He of the he/she tandum. I wanted to share some things that made me smile throughout the day today.

1. If Tatoos or odd piercings were currency then most of Jacksonville would be very wealthy. The beach is a wonderful place to see these spectacles go enjoy. The tatoo parlors do not discriminate big, extra big, with teeth, without teeth, if you have the dough you can have the tat.

2. Jacksonville roadways as a whole are under construction. I thought maybe just a few spots but no the whole infrastructure is under construction (ok I am stretching a bit but wow there is a lot of construction)

3. I had to entertain a business meeting today off of Phillips Highway and Emerson. Had some great BBQ and the area was very interesting. I cannot decide what I saw today or didn't. A pregnant prostitute or just a skimply clad pregnant woman wearing high heels. The jury is out.. I promise I was just there for the BBQ.

4. Since I am generalizing let me add this one last observation. It is warm here in NE Florida some would say hot. There seems to be one demographic that does not pay the extra money for A/C. Smokers, everywhere I go I see them in their cars windows down smoking up a storm. They always look extra hot to me like it may be 20 degrees warmer in their car.

My observations do not equal political correctness and my other half will probably try to remove this post and if she can't, then she will apoligize profusly for my candor. So I will go ahead and say I am sorry before this upsets anyone. "Sorry"

What you are seeing is typical Florida....but the reason is, the heat...the heat here brings out things you wouldn't see in cooler climates...people here have watched their minds burn up in the heat....

Haha! I love it!.. You are very right about the construction! My husband and I are living in Palm Coast right now But I am from Jacksonville and my family lives in Jacksonville so, we spend more time up there then we do at home... and it seems like everywhere you go there is construction! I have never really thought about it though.. I think its because I have lived in Jacksonville for all of my life and there has always been construction everywhere! The construction in Jacksonville seems never ending! Oh and your also right about the heat! It is almost unbearable! My husband and I are smokers.. we are trying to quit though. We have stopped smoking in the car because we connot take it! It seems to be cooler outside of the car even though it feels like 100 degrees out!

Lawstudent, great observations! Keep them coming! I couldn't agree more about seeing people here smoking in their cars seemingly everywhere. What's up w/ that?? Also, notice that you've started seeing the same chains everywhere...BBQ places, Firehouse subs, The Loop, etc.? I wouldn't mind a little more variety, but I guess it could be worse. I haven't found a lot of food here that I'm crazy about...I must say that I miss San Diego cuisine...

1. Ha Ha ! Yeah, more skin showing in FL, so more tats showing .

2. The road construction has really ramped up in the last couple of years, but a lot of the projects are over the hump now and we should start seeing some completions soon...any minute now .

3. That might have been a prostitute. Emerson & Phillips industrial area is one of the places you see them. The area is cleaning up slowly, slowly, slowly. It's valuable real estate with San Marco right there to the west of it, so it will get better in time. I don't eat BBQ myself, but there's a locally owned "destination" BBQ place there...it might be the one you were at (I forget the name....is it Jenkins?).

4. As you're watching the other drivers, look for cracked windshields too. It's the law in FL that your insurance company has to pay to replace your windshield if it's cracked, so there's no reason to drive around with a cracked one........if you're insured ! I always give those drivers a wide berth .
