I'm not a huge baseball fan, so please don't ask me to name names or rattle off stats. I wouldn't even be able to tell you when the season starts and ends. BUT I so thoroughly enjoy going to the games far more than I ever did going to major league games.

I'm not sure I can actually say why I enjoy the Suns games. Perhaps it's because there's less drama-drama-drama and show biz on the field, unlike what one sees on a major league field. I guess for me watching the Suns play is watching real baseball. The spectators are part of it rather than just wallets sitting in the seats.

Nice stadium, GREAT prices and a good value for the family. We went to alot of Suns games this year and we had alot of fun.......

Kids really like it because of all the activities and the players are very accessible to them. the tickets are very reasonable and the stadium food is well priced.

Plus like fsu813 said they are a good baseball organization! So you get a great game at a great price!

Great! Just as I expected. I posted this thread without telling my thoughts on the matter initially because I wanted to see what types of comments would appear.
I love the Suns, all the points you guys made I agree with 100%. I mention all those great factors everytime someone mentions the Suns. I was very excited about us winning the Southern Championship, I bragged to friends and family for days and had a few folks give me some negative comments about the volume of my support for them. I know they may not be the most popular team and they aren't major league. But it's still a great team and the games are super fun, cheap and you don't have to empty your pockets on the event.
The negativity came from, obviously not natives of Jax. So i took them with a grain of salt. I don't take outsiders comments on hometown issues seriously at all.
I wasn't second guessing my pride and happiness for my hometown team but I just wanted to know how the residents of Duval County felt about them. Just another great outing that the residents can take part in.

Thirsty Thursdays. Also, much easier to park, tailgate, and exit than a major league stadium like Turner Field.

Miss my childhood memories from Wolfson Stadium, though! Loved walking around the rafters at the top and exploring.

Especially if you can simply ride your bike there. =)

I was at game 4 of the championship. The walkoff homer in the 9th was crazy! Glad the Suns won two pennants in a row. Im a bigger fan than I used to be.

As a former player in middle school & high school The AA minors play the hardest, theyre not as developed as MLB players but their hustle beats MLB....I have this arguement often on baseball forums. Major Leaguers already have the big contracts, AA players are trying to get to MLB, to get the contracts. Who do you think is more hungry?

The season starts and ends when other pro teams start. April - Oct
