Where do you buy furniture at?

We bought a lot of our stuff used when we lived in Hawaii and our one new purchase, a couch set, was a mistake. It is so so cheap. I am tired of cheap furniture that lasts 2 or 3 years and sags.
We want to buy a leather couch / sectional... something mid-level to high quality.
I don't want something that smells like it comes loaded down with chemicals for 3 months and then falls apart soon after. I have no idea where to buy something better than this, though!
Most of the bigger furniture stores have cheap furniture like this (Rooms to Go, etc.)
Does anyone have some good recommendations on where we could go?

How is Ashley furniture? Is it cheap, too? They seem to be pricey, but that doesn't mean they have high quality stuff...

I also just found Circle K online.. they seem most promising so far. They have Broyhill and all the stuff my parents passed down to us is Broyhill and 30 years old and still in great condition...

Thanks!

American Signature is pretty good, located at:

9400 Atlantic Blvd, Suite 100A
Jacksonville, FL 32225
(904) 421-0950

though most of thier leather furniture seemed a bit tacky to me personally (the design).

My favorite place however, is Robin's Furniture, in Murray Hill:

944 Edgewood Avenue S.
Jacksonville, FL 32205
(904) 389-0210

Welcome, Furniture, Home Furnishings, Robins Gently Used And New Furniture, Jacksonville, FL (it's a good website)

they actually have some very nice leather pieces. I'd highly recommend it.

There is no Crate & Barrel in JAX. American Leather is a decent mid-priced manufacturer of leather sofas and chairs and the like. Scan Design (showroom in JAX) carries some of its line. And Robb & Stucky (closest store is in Orlando) carries some too. If you're interested in more contemporary design - I'd try a place like Design Within Reach (no local store - but you can try out the furniture at a showroom in Atlanta or south Florida and order it there). You can go higher end than these options - don't know what you want to spend. And if you want to go lower in terms of price - and perhaps somewhat lower in quality - take a look at IKEA (closest store is in Orlando). Robyn

Have you ever bought anything at this Robins Furniture place? The prices seem pretty high to me for used/scratch and dent/floor models from other stores furniture. Robyn

My sister bought a leather couch from Woodchuck's in Mandarin on San Jose Blvd. It's a flexisteel brand and it's held up for the last five years, still looks new. The leather is pretty comfortable. There's also Thomasville Gallery on Philip's Highway.

Thanks everyone!
We ended up checking out Circle K today and left with a couch and loveseat by italia leather. There is no way we could afford a really high end leather couch and loveseat for several thousand a piece, but this seemed like a good compromise... I hope they hold up...
I will say we were really impressed by Circle K and liked it a lot. We spent almost 4 hours there. They have the biggest selection we've ever seen at a furniture place and a lot of it seemed pretty nice, like it would last. I will mention though that for the stuff we bought, they only had the floor models available and there were no discounts for that. We will have to check out some of these other places you all mentioned though for the rest of our furniture hunting!

I bought my furnture at Bassett. I got to design and chose the fabric of my couch and side chair. They were so helpful in the design department.
