Not sure on this, but I'd guess there's some sort of violation for removing substantial amounts of beach sand.

Someone already suggested it, but it does seem like you'll need to remove your fencing on one side so a bucket tractor or the dump truck could drive down the side of the house. I don't think there's gonna be a "clean" way to get this done.

We are doing this right now. We found a local farm (Weiss Farm in Stoneham, Mass) that sells dirt in bulk. We went for 50% loam/50% compost, since we wanted to grow grass on top of the hole. They dumped it (5 yards of dirt) in the front (on our driveway) and using a wheel barrow, we brought it to the back, load by load. It's a lot of work, but very rewarding.

As for categories of places: You can call local gardening or Plant Nurseries who sell dirt in bulk and if local, might even deliver for free.

good luck.

Use the hole for a container garden. Or plant a cactus garden.

The original poster started this thread six years ago, so I assume they've fixed the situation by now, one way or another. In six years they could have filled the hole with a spoon.

So far I've learned that it could cost a couple thousand dollars to have someone come fill the hole up. At this point, we don't even know companies that do that.

Can anyone recommend someone to do this service for us, or is it possible to do it yourself? I'm curious about any solution you guys might be able to provide.

Thanks.
Shoot, put a stretch tarp over that thing, put some stakes all the way around it, and use it as in in-ground trampoline!!!

You're welcome.
