Just wanted to let all the new residents of St Johns County know that you can get discounts at many of the local attractions in St Augustine and free admission to a few of them by showing a valid ID. We have saved money at Ripleys,The Fountain of Youth, Victory II cruise, the lighthouse, museums, and more. They don't post these discounts. Just ask everywhere you go!

Thanks, mav286. The Alligator Farm offers 30% off for St. Johns Cty residents as well. Just ask for the discount and be prepared to show i.d. I have been told that the trolley companies will allow St. Johns residents to ride free with each full-price ticket but have not confirmed that.

Thanks, as newcomers we've done some of things and always asked for AAA discount but never thought of a county discount.

You're Welcome. We didn't hear about the discounts until a year after we moved here. So glad when my neighbor mentioned it. We just spent a wonderful day with our grandchildren visiting 3 of the museums, all for free , then enjoyed a leisurely cruise on the Victory III for 1/2 price ! We packed our lunches & ate on the upper deck of the boat. Saw some dolphins. Great fun ! Can't beat the prices!

Here are the FREE attractions for SJC residents we have discovered:

Lightner Museum
Government House Museum
Spanish Military Hospital Museum
Colonial Spanish Quarter Museum
Oldest Wooden Schoolhouse
Fountain of Youth

I've ridden the trains around town and found out that they offer 50% off prices for county residents.
