Hello all,
I just recently heard about the VPK program that the state of Florida offers and it states that both private, parochial and public schools participate in them. My daughter will not turn five until the end of Oct so I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good school where she could participate in this program? Any advice is highly appreciated! ![]() |

VPK is open to all 4 year olds (as long as they turn 4 by September1). The state pays for 1/2 a day - with most of the private preschools, you have the option to pay an additional fee if you need full day care.
We are still in So.Fl - but will soon be relocating to Jax - will most likely be in zip code 32225 - I've checked out Holy Spirit - it was highly recommended by friends in the area - both of my girls (2.5 and 4 yrs will go there.) Also in that same zip is Grace Lutheran - I looked at their program online and spoke w/ the staff and was pleased with their program as well. Sorry, I can't give you any more specific info on other areas. Have you checked out the state web site? Here's the link: VPK Program by Zero to Five You might want to specify what area you are in. With that info, others may be able to point you in the right direction. Best of luck! |

If you live at Jacksonville Beach or surrounding areas,I would recommend your child attending Saint Paul's by-the-Sea Episcopal Day School.I went there as a child from nursery to 2nd grade, before moving from the beach. It is a great private school and is expensive ,but what you get in return as an education, I can't put into words.
