Smile Any nice, quiet townhomes in Jacksonville?

I'm sick of living in apartments. The noise from neighbors through the walls and in the halls is driving me crazy.

I'm thinking about buying a townhome. Has anyone had much experience with townhomes in Jacksonville? Are there any nice, quiet ones? And by quiet I mean with good sound-proofing so you can't hear your neighbors through the walls.

I'm looking mostly on the southside and toward the beaches, area codes 32256, 32246, 32258, 32250, but I'll definitely look at other suggestions you might have.

I'd really appreciate any input. Thanks!!

Nice quiet townhomes? That's kind of an oxymoron! Seeing as there's usually a common wall or 2, the noise problems will be there. Just probably not as bad as an apartment complex, but still present.

Hmmm. I wonder how much better than an apartment it might be though. I looked at some townhomes near where I live, and it looks like the separation between the townhomes is much thicker than the walls of my apartment.

Where I'm at now I constantly hear loud thumping and slamming noises. I think it's a combination of people slamming doors and cabinets inside their apartment as well as people slamming their front doors and stomping up and down the stairs and slamming their car doors. And then there's the dogs barking...ugh.

I really am going crazy.

Townhomes aren't as bad as apartments, but they come with their own set of problems.

Heck, I bought my first home a couple years ago, and I still have to deal with noise - cars with thumping bass, neighbors with loud radios, barking dogs, etc...

I feel your pain!

What set of problems do townhomes come with other than the same noise issues apartments have?

There's a kabillion apartment/townhome complexes in those areas. Take your pick.

Yeah well I don't necessarily need to be in one of those areas. That's just where I noticed there were a bunch of townhomes. The main thing is I want it to be safe and quiet. I know some probably have better sound-proofing than others.

The Bartram area has a bunch, off of both Old St Augustine and Racetrack.
