We have two Hampton Inn's, one downtown where everything is in walking distance. The other on Saddler where again you can easily walk to the beach, dining and drinks on the ocean at the newly renovated Sliders restaurant. Near by is a brand new Residence Inn and a older Days Inn. There is also a newer hotel right as across the street from the ocean that I believe is the Seaside, an older one right on the ocean is the Beachside, also the Comfort Inn and Suite near Fort Clinch.

DM me if you want specific info. Good Luck

We stayed at the Amelia Hotel for 3 nights a couple weeks ago. It is right across the street from a beach at the corner of Sadler. We had a 3rd floor balcony room with a small view of the ocean ( between the 2 buildings across the street which are directly on the beach) perfect for watching the sunrise. Very reasonable rates. We live in northern St Johns county less than 1 hour from Amelia Island but love to get a room and spend a few days there a couple times a year. My husband & I are the same ages as you & your husband, also retired. We love our community here & our #1 priority was living close to our grandchildren for now ( 5 miles from us), but would otherwise really enjoy living on Amelia Island.

So.... how did the election go? Are you Amelia Islanders happy with the results?
