Yes, I was in Applejacks the night John Lennon was killed. Someone stopped the band (Trayn? or was it Matt "Guitar" Murphy?) and solemnly announced Lennon had been shot and killed. Was a strange night.....

What about driving on the beaches...
I remember being able to drive on Saint Augustine beaches without directional signs. I used to back my truck up to the ocean and dump my seadoo in, don't try that today!
You are lucky if you get to drive on the beach at all anymore...

Allen Collins and Bob Burns attended Forrest...however, all members had dropped out by 1970 and were attending Adult Central downtown.

Anybody remember Hochman's Western Wear on Edgewood Ave? My folks used to buy my Levis and cordorouys (school clothes) there. I loved walking in the front door and smelling the aroma of leather from the boots and saddles. I wore boots a lot too, we got those there too.

I was driving home from work when I heard About Lennon on the radio...drove right by Applejacks & stopped at Sherwoods bar.. (which used to be right down the street from Applejacks)...I had to have a drink after hearing about John... saw a friend there, Pete, & told him about Lennon & his jaw just dropped... truly a sad day.

I remember the place. Just north of Beaver St. I recall. Always like going there with all the western stuff.

Tiki Something?
Hello friends. Does anyone remember the name of that Tiki bar that was on Atlantic ave. near the Regency mall? Any Pictures? How about the old Thunderbird lounge or Monty's on St Johns ave? Pictures/stories of any, or all would be priceless to me.

I don't remember the "Blue Boa", but there was also a head shop called "The Garage" at the corner of Arlington & Univ next to the Krystal. I remember taking various girls in there so they could shop for dangly/hippie earrings.

Does anyone remember the chocolate you could get at one of the department stores. It was either May Cohens or Ivey's (which I think is now Dillards). I believe the name was Charlamont, it was the best chocolate. My parents use to buy us their solid chocolate bunnies at Easter.
