Hey all
I tried a cheesesteak at the Brooklyn Pizza near me the other day.
They have the meat shipped in from Phila rofl they actually showed me the box and the meat.
It was pretty good

Tony the biggest difference between Pats & Genos is Genos keeps the meat in slices where as Pats does the chop on the grill method .

I had to chuckle when I read "I was also incredibly hungover when I ate it"
I usually ended up at Pats around 3 am

I originally went by Vinny Bagadonutz online, but I figured that was too stereotypical. Tony Bowlasoupa is much more P.C.!

Brooklyn pizza you say aye? I'll have to give it a shot. I went to philly's finest after reply on this thread on Saturday and...dammit. The guy who said it taste like glorified roastbeef had an impact on my visit. It was still good, but I couldn't get that comment outta my head. I'll check out Brooklyn later on this week.

I'm going to NY in a few months and I do believe i'll make a pitstop in philly to give Pat's another shot, because during my last visit I had genos before hitting up this Belgian bar (beers with 12-21% alcohol) and pats afterwards.

It's unnatural to crave cheesesteaks at 942 on a monday morning......

Thanks for the recommendation!

You are wise in your cheesesteak knowlege, I tried Brooklyn Pizza out yesterday. I gotta say, it's pretty friggin good! I wonder if they'd do it with wiz next time. The pizza wasn't bad either!

I've heard good things about the 9a location and san jose, but at least 4 people told me to stay away from the st augustine road location

First of all, the best cheesesteaks in Philly arent even at Pats or Genos. They are the corner stores. Of course out of towners wouldnt know about this.

I tried a few of the local suggestions from my friends who live in philly and meh, maybe it's because I wasn't born and raised there, they weren't overly delicious. Genos was the best I had there, but do you have any other recommendations next time i'm in philly? I might give them a shot.
