A friend of mine is moving here from LAS. He is going to attend UNF, and he has asked me where would be a good place to live for a student. I am not a UNF student and I live in Fernandina. If he was going to stay in town, I would give him a few recommendations, but since he is going to UNF, he wants to live close by to the Campus. I already know of "The District, and The Flats off of Kernan, but he is looking for a place of his own, and I don't blame him. Anyone know of a good complex for students from a $550 - $650 range near the UNF campus? He wants to avoid rooming with someone if possible.

There seem to be a lot of apartments in the Baymeadows/Gate Parkway area...it would be a very short drive to campus, like maybe 5 minutes. Courtney Meadows comes to mind, but I'm not sure about the prices, but it would be a good place to start and there are several complexes nearby.

If he is a freshman, he should check with the school before he commits to an apartment. In most (not all) cases, students have to live on campus their first year.
