I would recommend Riverside, north of where you're looking. It's GORGEOUS older craftsman style homes. I missed an opportunity to buy there and have regretted it ever since.

Thanks again J'Ville! The only area I can seem to find affordable apartments is in the Mandarin area....specifically, Oasis of Mandarin, Mandarin Pointe, Waterford @ Mandarin and Paddock Club of Mandarin. They are all in the 32223 zip code. I also found the Indigo Apartments in zip 32258. Any comments about these properties/neighborhoods?

Also, what's your opinion of the San Marco area and the Hyde Park area?

Thanks again for your input!

Later....

Oink

San Marco is a great area. (somewhat walkable)
Hyde Park is fine, as long as your not on San Jaun Ave, Ellis Rd, Lennox Ave, Jammes Rd or Lane Ave.(not walkable)
