Got a LivingSocial deal for a $22 kayak rental. My best friend (family actually) and his family are in town and his kids wanted to try it, too. So I've got 2 kayaks strapped to the top of the Disco, they have one strapped to the top of their car, and we're headed up to Hugenot shortly.

I'll let you know how it goes.

No photos though, my camera gear doesn't float!

Hey Rick, I've been Kayaking quite a bit the last month and a half or so or so. At least once a week. This weekend the Jacksonville Kayak Meetup Group has a trip from Fernandina to Cumberland Island, ~4mi open water. The St Augustine Kayak Meetup Group has a sunrise paddle at GTM reserve which should be pretty easy. This will be my first event with either group but they sound like fun:

Well, back from our adventure today. Was WINDY today. We didn't do much but paddle around the inlet a little. Too windy to do much else.

I don't own a kayak. I will be giving it more of a go in the near future though.

Man that thing gets about as bad gas mileage as my F250 FX4 4X4!!
We would probably be better off financially if they were dead...

Yup. Mileage sucks--11mpg--but I can't do much about it at the moment.

Apparently there are a lot of good places so there is no shortage.

I just have to get some more time to get out with others who know what they're doing better than I. Tough with 2 kids.

I'm heading down to Matanzas Inlet Saturday morning if your interested. Plan on paddling around the fort, into the Pellicer reserve and stop for lunch at one of the island campgrounds. If you're interested shoot me a DM.
