Isn't there some kind of law about canceling a contract that was just signed on Friday?

Wife signed up with a home security person on friday.

Read the contract and see what it says.

I believe you have three days to cancel any contract (according to my business law class, which I took several years ago.) You could research contract law under Florida statues at myflorida.com so you has some ammo if you need it when telling the company.

That's what I thought also, but wasn't real sure how the weekend figured into it. Is it three business days or just three days?

That, I don't know. But either way they'd be good as long as they do it by Monday.

Default Special Circumstances

There are laws that protect individuals who sign contracts when the sales person comes to the house. It is usually three business days from the date of the contract. ( I am aware that this type of protection exists in many states, however I am not sure exactly which ones they are). Good advice here, read the contract, the cancellation clause will be in it.
