Default Computer advice
Video card just died in my 4yr old gateway laptop. Already bought a new macbook which i like. Question is what to do with the old laptop? I don't want to trash it but for someone to get any use out of it they'd have to replace the motherboard. Any computer savvy people out there can give me some advice on this?

Perhaps I can send it back to gateway and they'd refurbish it to donate? Idk.

The Apple Store I used to work at would recycle your old PC or Mac for you. They're pretty good about that sorta thing.

Or you could try selling it on eBay for parts, although you wouldnt get much out of it.

Before you get rid of it, you MUST erase your hard drive. Most places do not take donations for computers because of this problem.
