Hubby and I are renting in Flagler Beach this Jan 2013, while we look for a home in NE or Central E FL.
We're relocating fr the midwest and are looking to find at least a 3 br home/2 ba in the area, preferably close to the ocean.

I've heard fr others the beaches near st aug/crescent beaches are nicer than the ones down south? More white sand, wider beaches? NO rocks.
Then as you go further south.. lots of rocks in Palm coast area...
then the sand gets redder the further south you go... and beaches are more thin.. as in Flagler Beach area, not as much beach avail during high tides.

I've also heard that fr Flagler down to New Smyrna... lots of shark attacks... that it's better further south.. near Melbourne/Satellite Beaches.

Hubby and I just wanna live near the ocean.. and live in a safe community where we can enjoy the mild climate, the warm weather.. and host family/friends at the beach when they come to visit.

In your opinion, what are the nicest, safest most enjoyable beaches?
We're not looking for crowded.

We'd rather live in a community where beaches are easy to get to.. avail parking.. and not too congested.

Ideas???

thks!

Anastasia Island (except in the summer there can be some congestion so look at the Dondaville end or Crescent Beach
