Reasonably priced Dog Friendly Hotels~A question please about a couple of areas (Jacksonville: apts)

Hi Everyone~
this site has been a Huge help and a wealth of knowledge~thank you for that!

...I have been checking online for apts for some time and I think it would be in my best interest just to come down and see for myself, whereas it is hard via long distance.

I am going to probably stay in an 'extended' stay type motel down there for a couple of weeks, looking for a reasonable priced place and I am bringing the dogs....I have checked out the studio 6 site and a couple others on the internet but don't know if they are in decent area-- one is on baymeadows rd and there is a Homestead Jacksonville / Baymeadows,8300 Western Way.

Could any of you tell me if these are in safe areas? There is always a challenge when bringing the 'guys' especially because my big huge lovable yellow lab can not be 'hidden' away in my pocketbook!!! my mini dachshund is easy she is only 7pds!

or if anyone knows of another place that won't put me in bankruptcy - I appreciate the info.

there is also another extended stay off of JTB
I can;t remember the name but I should be driving past in the next day or so and can get the name
either on Baymeadows would be fine.

Homestead Studio Suites Jacksonville - Southside - St. Johns Towne Center
it is right off JTB near the new St Johns towne center really nice area
also id you see any around tinseltown also another good area

If the St. John's Town Center Homestead takes dogs - that's the one to stay at . It's new, there will be people walking around at night when the stores and restaurants are open (so you can walk the dogs at night and you won't be in a desolate area). It's a good, central location where you can get to any part of the city easily.
