How would you rate Maplewood St as an area in Jackson where you can raise your children?

It is hard to know just by a street name
I googled Maplewood Street and the one it came up with was between Beaver and Rt10 and Stockton and Mcduff the zip is 32254
If this is the area you mean I would chose elsewhere. Because of a few of my volunteer projrcts I have been in this area during the day but am not comfortable being in this area at night.

If it's the street that karla has found, I echo Karla's post. A rough area.
And without the street address, I couldn't tell, but go to this site and add the full address. FDLE Florida Sexual Offenders and Predators

Mandarin, the beaches, most places on the Southside. Others would throw in San Marco and Ortega.
There are lots of areas in Clay and St. Johns counties, but since you asked for Jax, then I'll limit my answers to the prior paragraph.

Riverside/Avondale is a good area but a little pricey. Also Murray Hill (though some of the outer parts of it are not as good), Argyle (though I think it is in sort of a decline with some of the restaurants and stores closing or already closed) and Oakleaf Plantation.
Some of the bad areas include Philips Hwy. north of Emerson, St. Augustine Rd. north of University, and many of the neighborhoods on the outermost parts of Downtown.

Hi, I'm new here and was curious about what about this area is "bad". I was wondering as I remember reading that south and east are the better areas. Does anyone know the zipcode for this area?

Many good zips. I am most familiar with 32223. Good zip with good (for Duval) schools.
