My daughter, her husband and our 3 grandchildren, which increased to 4 a few weeks after arrival are now living in Jacksonville. They have lived there for about a year and a half in San Marco. They are now at their first school called Hendricks which is outstanding and this is confirmed by the Florida school league tables. I would have no hesitatation in making the decision in leaving the UK, it is tough for grandparents such as my self but we get there 3 times a year and are happy to see our loved ones so happy and settled in such an wonderful place.

Looks like Jacksonville may be back on the cards. Been seeing posts about deadly spiders blackwidows and brown recluse and snakes. Is this exaggerated on the sites or are they quite common around holmes in st johns county.

My main concern is still finding a reasonable it job?

Almost everywhere in the USA has Blackwidow, Brown Recluse Spiders and Snakes. Except maybe Alaska and Hawaii. Your chances of actually interacting with any of the aforementioned critters is extremely slim, if you keep the trash and junk piles they prefer to live in to a minimum around your home.

Finding a reasonable IT job, depends more on you and your qualifications than on anything else.

Hi

Any Idea on approx CDD fees in durbin crossing as need to factor this into my planning?

We are now 99% sure we are coming April/May so trying to work out what areas to look at for schools / properties. Number 1 for me are schools as twins will be 3 so want to pick an area that is going to give them the best schooling. I heard Durbin Crossing is building a new school although not for their age yet :-) but this is a good area for them and commuting up to jacksonville

I heard Nocatee mentioned as well as a good area but looks like schools have dropped a little?

The other killer questions -

Rent for how long to find out correct area to buy in?
* I heard 6 month rentals hard to find?
* Any views on what market price for holmes might do over next year? Any chance they may jump back up quite a bit again leaving me kicking myself?

Buy or build? How long does a build take once you find a location and plan?

Thanks for help - See you all soon
Andy
