Just a quick note, Beachside Seafood in JAX Beach is closed for renovations. They don't have any information on their website regarding the closure, and the signs on the door don't give an estimated date of opening. We went 12/7/07, and were turned away by a hand scrawled sign on the doors. Their neon was still on, taunting us, go figure.

If I live/work near the intersection of Baymeadows/Southside where is the nearest seafood market. I want to get some fresh seafood on my lunch break. I can't drive all the way to Mayport. There is a place just east of Southside on Beach...I think it is called Yara's? Is there a closer place?

I could go to Publix....but I don't think they carry a lot of local stuff...besides shrimp. And I like supporting the local guys.

hi, I live in Jacksonville Beach, come out here if you want some good Seafood... go to Joe's Crabshack, its right on the water, EAT AT JOES is on the side of the building, I had some YUMMIE crabcakes there Sat night, and with me like the old saying goes... my diet is seafood... = "I see food, I eat it"....lol, drive out JTB all the way to the beach, or out Beach Blvd all the way to the beach, cant miss it when you get out here, its right on 1st street, bye now - Luann

Fisherman's Dock has excellent fresh seafood. Fresh Mayport shrimp..very reasonable prices. All sorts of lobster, fresh fish, little necks, etc. Very good. There is one on Blanding or Wells, not sure, and another one on San Jose.

The ol' Fisherman's Dock in Mandarin on San Jose is over 10 miles from Baymeadows/Southside Intersection!! Is there a closer fish market for me? I want a neighborhood fish market....10 miles..... I might as well drive to the beach.

Didn't someone ask for one near Fleming Island? There is an Ol' Fisherman's Dock on Wells or Blanding as well! I have no idea what's near Baymeadows and Southside.

P.S. This has always been my issue with living in Jax. Not one area is self sufficient. i find myself hitting the interstate for one thing or another all the time. One area has this, but not that, one area has that but not this. Sorry, but welcome to Jax.
