I don't remember how long the tasting lasted but we were not rushed. We were at our table between 2 and 2-1/2 hours and I believe the food was about 1 hour of that. Each course ends pretty much when you want it to end. I'm sure they would work with you if you needed to substitute something due to a food allergy. We were at Salt (another fantastic place as 5FLgirls suggested) with a friend who had a food allergy. They had no problem substituting one of the courses on the tasting menu. I'm sure Matthew's would do the same. But, you should probably ask when you make reservations.

I think Matthews sounds perfect .

Instead of a cab, have you thought about hiring a car service for the night? It can often be very reasonable. Just ask for a town car.

Beches Limo is supposed to be a good one, they've been around for a while. They're located on the Southside/Intracoastal West border:
