Hi not to sure what to say hope whoever reads can give some suggestions and help....I'm currently living in WI but I work as a caddie. I will be moving to Jacksonville area by the end of the month and was hoping to get some advice and opinions on places to check out....
I will be caddying at TPC Sawgrass so I am hoping to find a place within 20 min. drive from there. I also have 1 dog and am hoping to find a place around 800/month or less. Preferbly a 1bdrm and with a W/D hookup or included. If theres a 2bdrm in that price range thats good as well. I will be moving for 7 months while down there so short term lease....Trying to think LOL.... Anything else that I should also mention? Thanks for any help anyone can give me. |

A short term lease might be difficult, so if you're really going to leave after 7 months, I'd make sure the lease-breaking terms were favorable before signing.
$800/mo. is not going to buy luxury, but you should be able to find a decent one-bedroom. I'd at least try looking in Ponte Vedra first since you'll be working right there. If you can't find what you're looking for, you can check out the beach areas above as apvguy pointed out, but if you're priced out of Ponte Vedra you're probably going to be priced out of all the beaches (and the low-end rentals at the beaches can be really run-down). So I would not waste too much time searching for rentals at the beach - if something doesn't pan out quickly, just move on and head inland a few miles. As Karla pointed out, Intracoastal West is right there, just minutes in from the beach and there are tons of good apartment rentals there (much more than at the beaches themselves). The apartments here tend to be big complexes that have been recently built. Try zips 32224, 32246 & 32225. You can view the area on a map by targeting in on these roads: San Pablo Road Hodges Blvd Kernan Blvd St. John's Bluff Road and at these intersections: Beach Blvd Atlantic Blvd John Turner Butler Blvd (JTB) Route 9A The dog might be another issue when finding a rental (less and less places are accepting dogs), so I'd put that at the top of my search filter along with a favorable lease-breaking clause. |

This looks pretty good, I think. They are pet friendly and it's only a 3.5 miles commute:

i know the bartram park area is a decent part to live and easy access to sawgrass. you get on 95 and boom you're there. plus the great thing about bartram park is that people got greedy bought all the townhomes and condos and now cant get them rented! people who bought them are paying 1200+ for mortgages and are renting them for cheap like 800 just to get them rented! right where i live there are so many EMPTY condos. the condos are not bad they are only 2 years old just the management sucks! but trust me they are better than some of those apts off baymeadows that with the rain they are all leaking! watch outfor those condos, town hones, apts that are 5+ years old with all the rain our company has received hundreds of calls from h/o's asking to get the leak fixed!! at williams walk--no leaks, thanks goodness!!
