Default Woke last night to the sound of thunder...

Okay, so I took a nap, got up and began reading a book about decluttering with feng shui, tore my kitchen apart, dabbled in the garage...big garage sale next weekend if I can keep the momentum going. I still have unpacked boxes from seven years ago. A bunch of chatchkes, books. Haven't been able to open them- too many sad memories. I will wait for those until the day of the sale...maybe. I have four boxes of old papers to take to a shred place.

Got my mojo back! Think we'll put halloween decorations up today.

This weather stinks, but we need it. We are still "dry" for the year and considered in drought. We really need to catch up to be prepared for next spring/summer.

Hello Georgia, hello North Carolina!

This weather is wacked ! It used to be normal to have a rainy season, so much though that I still "look for it" and expect it each year.

But now it seems, anything goes . The sheer amount of rain coming down right now is a bit unusual - a lot of rain in a very small span of time. The mosquitos must be thrilled .

I guess this is what we can expect going forward for a while - these extreme weather patterns.

Just before this rain hit, my husband and I were discussing the trees along our "routes" that were dead. If you look around, you'll see some dead brown trees right now that just could not handle the drought......if only they could have held out another few weeks .

Anyway, it's something to ponder.......these new weather patterns.

I've thought the same. Will we end up under water?

the problem with the trees is back in 98 when we had the no rain and wildfires the trees started to adjust to the drought, then here comes the rains in 2004 from all of the storms that we saw the effects of and they had to readjust now to lots of water throw the extreme drought conditions earlier this summer and now the deluge.
We have had discussions at the extension office and it was said that these conditions can shorten the lifespan by as much as 15 to 25 years.
But then you can say that this is natures way of thinning out the less hardy trees to make way for new ones.

All I can say as I woke to the deluge of rain at 5 am

"Stop raining it's my birthday I want sunshine as my present "

LOL! You made it here for the worst months as far as humidity goes. Yes, one day, in the very near future, you will wake up and step outside. Your glasses won't fog up, the air will feel clean and light, you'll get a big smile on your face and your energy level will kick up a notch. I felt it only briefly one day a week or so ago, before the monsoons hit. I'm betting it will happen in the next day or so, unless the rain returns.

If we are lucky, we'll have a couple of warm, but not-too-hot weeks before we get to experience the next level of wonderful Florida weather...the slight nip in the air felt in the mornings. That's my favorite time of year.

Default Whew!

I was begining to freak out that this would be a never ending sweat fest at varying temperatures! Really missing a "crisp" fall day. Well, I will be looking forward to the day when I may need a sweatshirt over my t-shirt...
