Mine is Biscottis in Avondale. It's very well-known of course, but they earn their repuatation. Whatever i order there has always been very good.
The portabello sandwhich is my favorite.

Runner-up would have to be Wafaa & Mikes on Main Street in Springfield. It's a relatively new, very casual restaurant with great Middle-Eastern / American food. The meats, veggies, spices, and flavors are all great an the portions are huge.

Second that because I cant think of anything else off the top of my head, of course there are plenty and Biscotti's has messed up before, but anyone who has not driven over to Avondale to check it out needs to ASAP! My parents ate there during the Super Bowl and sat next to Adam Sandler and Chris Rock, and whenever celebs come to town they definitely hit that place up! good reputation!

Enza's Italian Restaurant on San José Boulevard, near Whole Foods (same shopping plaza). Great Italian food!

For Italian everyone should also try a Jax establishment, La Cena on Laura St downtown. That guy is famous and that is another hotspot for intown celebs and people in the know. It is very small, but very good and very authentic. It is upscale/dressy. I believe the owner/chef is Mike Moran, but don't quote me.

For the more casual "non-chain" restaurants, I would recommend:

Mojo's Kitchen -BBQ (jax beach)
Sam Won Garden- korean (off university)
Mossfire Grill- 5 points

Larry's Giant Subs is a fast-food submarine sandwich chain headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. Its first store opened in Jacksonville, Florida in 1982. Now, Larry's Giant Subs has over 100 operating restaurants nationwide.

Larry and Mitch Raikes (the Raikes brothers) built the first Larry's Giant Subs in Jacksonville, Florida in 1982. After seeing the response the first store received, the two brothers were inspired to branch out and take their concept nationwide. Now, the Larry's Giant Subs menu features submarine, deli, and New York style sandwiches. The restaurant also serves Soup Man soups. The Soup Man is world-famous for his soups, mostly thanks to the Seinfeld episode, "The Soup Nazi", in which he was played by Larry Thomas. Larry's Giant Subs currently has over 100 franchised out stores nationwide, with hundreds more under construction.

Awesome info. Thanks madcapmagishion. We've been enjoying Larry's Giant Subs for years and didn't know it's history.
Makes it all the MORE relishing!

Love Biscotti's but Moss Fire Grill will always be my fave - plus we can walk there and don't have to find a parking space.

Whoa, a blast from the past.

Here's a recent review of Wafaa & Mikes Cafe, by the way, still going strong:

These days, I'd go with Indochine as my numero uno local restauarnt.
