I have noticed there are a lot of condos for rent, maybe because they have been able to sell them.
I would look at both apts and condos
There is also something to be said about being single and living at the beach

I'm looking in the mid $700 range, found a couple spots on San Pable Rd and Baymeadows/Southside Blvd.
The beach would be great, except my budget constraints may limit my options...that and I will work downtown, so the to and from may be slow going.

From Southside/baymeadows your about 20 mins to downtown. 20 mins to the beach
From San Pablo if you are on JTB by 7 you should be downtown in about 30 mins. 10 mins or less to the beach.

Coming home depending on what time you leave downtown may take a bit longer
As long as my hubby leaves downtown by 4:45 it take him anywhere from 20 to 30 mins to get home 9A/baymeadows area.
he found it is faster to take 95 to Baymeadows and aovid JTB on the way home so if you chose the southside/baymeadows area keep that in mind.
