Any one know if these places are any good?
San Jose Villa Apartments 3920 Toledo Rd 32217
Stonewood 8300 Old Kings Rd South 32217
Bella Terraza 355 Monument Rd 32225
Park at Regency 1251 Beacon Point Dr. 32246
Preserve at Cedar River 4207 Confederate Point Rd 32210

I noticed most of these places are East of the St. John's River. The Church I will attend will be on the West side..32210 zip. My work maybe in the 32207 or 32204 areas. My budget is $500-700. 1/1 for now. Once I'm settled will most likely look for a bigger place. Any other suggestions would be great. I'll continue to search and plan to visit Jacksonville in early December. Thanks.

Stonewood 8300 Old Kings Rd South 32217 - Avoid if possible!
Park at Regency 1251 Beacon Point Dr. 32246 - Avg. nothing spectacular, nothing bad!
San Jose Villa Apartments 3920 Toledo Rd 32217 - Avoid if possible!

Care to explain why? Or is it just a personal thing?

But aside from that, the apartment in question is income restricted meaning that your neighbors will not be the best of society. Case in point, a relative lived there about 2 years back. Past tense because she got broken into 2 times over a 3 week period.

Mandarin is a nice area. Those San Jose apartments should be there shouldn't they? Unless they are way further down San Jose

Those San Jose Villa Apartments are not in San Jose. They are on Toledo Rd just off of Powers Avenue. Just north of Wolfson High School, not a great area!

Anybody can be broken into if they don't take proper precautions.

That view is at the corner of Blanding Blvd and Confederate Pt Rd, the apartments are 1/2 mile further back than that intersection. And if they don't like that view go to the apartments via the back way in, from Wesconett Blvd and Lamoya Ave.

Notice I didn't exactly recommend them, but they are what they are, cheap rents, average apartments and nothing spectacular. In fact the only place on his list I recommended were the Bella Terraza Apartments behind Regency.

I know. They are old and cheap. The thing that got me was the way "management" handled the break ins and how frequently small things happened around there.
Also, I put the pic up not because of the actual view, but the place has been open for quite a while and always has a crowd, which tells me the kind of people in the area. Just something I would want to know about if I were looking for a place to live.

That "Girls' bar in the photo used to be Reggie's Place Bar many years ago. It's where all the "swingers' and members of the older crowd (cougars) went to hook up. I went to Episcopal High School with Reggie's son Chris many, many years ago 67/68 I believe.
I wouldn't live in any apartment on Confederate Point Rd either though a couple of the complexes were nice back in the day Heritage Apts. and Confederate Point Apts. being 2 of the nicest of the 4 complexes there back then. (not even sure what their names are now) Plus if you got one of the riverfront apts, you had a fantastic view all the way down the river to downtown
