It just cost $115 to renew my tags for two years, so that isn't so bad.

Then return to the UK for our spring/summer. Let the car hire company worry about servicing and maintenance and Road Tax License.
Just out of curiosity, who worries about the auto insurance? Which can be expensive with a foreign drivers license.

Yes that site is not helpful at all..... I am not looking forward to changing things over. I have two cars, and on top of that my insurance is due this month. I figure I would go ahead and do everything at once instead of paying the former state I lived in but from the looks of things is going to be way more than Im willing to spend right now.......... hell if its cheaper I may just change some bills over the GA and Re register in my home state, I know for a fact my car insurance will be cheaper....sigh

Expensive insurance for foreign drivers. Depends if it out weighs cost of buying a car, taking a driving test or converting with a theory test. Plus then covering the maintenance plus the number plate tax which I was originally thinking of. Plus paying for half the year one is not in America. Depends if all this out weighs the cost of hiring a newer car and cost of insurance covering only the six months one is staying in America..
