Which is reality?

Hint: the second.

It's not an A+ venue, but it's decent. Therefore it draws a decent # of people, and does decent business.
Sorry, it's not decent, it just sucks. I know you're always tooting the horn for The Landing but I've tried going there more than a few times and each time it was exactly like what I experienced on a SATURDAY night with a TON of people already in the area for the fair. So tell me, when (exactly) is it decent?

Sure, I've been there during the day and have seen a lot of people there (not crowded) but they're only there to have lunch and they're gone after that.

And not sure what you consider a decent amount of people or a decent amount of business. Not sure why it is there's NOBODY in the restaurants on a SATURDAY night. Not sure why so many stores fail there (and restaurants.

Reality is The Landing sucks. It could be so much more because I want to like it but there's just nothing happening there to make people go there for a good time.

Well, if people don't want to accept information, they don't have to.

You choose not to accept factual info, and create your own reality.

In your world, no one goes to The Landing and businesses don't make money.

In reality, thousands spend there free time there every week, and The Landing has it's lowest vacancy rate in almost a decade.

Again, it's not a great, A+ venue . . . . . but it's decent. Thus, it does decent business and draws ok.

That article you are quoting is dated Thursday, May 31, 2012 (almost 6 months ago) can't you find something a little more current and relevant?

Right, check publications which are paid by advertisers over people who aren't being paid to say certain things.

I'm glad you said it - and not me. Because - if I said it - someone would just accuse me of being an old fart. I used to be able to drag my husband downtown for X,Y,Z when the Landing had that microbrewery (that closed a long time ago). But Hooters? (My husband was a hop head before craft beers became fashionable.) After the microbrewery closed - there was the Twisted Martini (barely acceptable) - but that is now closed too. Apart from a general lack of people (other than the hip-hop crowd on various dates/at various times - which - I have to frank - I have nothing in common with) - where in the Landing is there a decent place to eat/drink?

If someone can tell me about one good place to eat/drink there - perhaps I'll try to convince my husband to take a holiday visit there. Robyn

It's a business newspaper.

Are you a conspiracy theorist?

Exactly. And it's supposed to talk about how great the local businesses are, not talk about how bad they are...

Who said anything about a conspiracy. You're the only one around here who talks about how great The Landing is and how well it's doing. You keep citing an article here or there. I'm citing actual real world experiences that I've (personally) had. Others have, too. Yet you tell us we're not being realistic. :::scratching head:::

If The Landing was doing so well and was as vibrant as you said it was (previously in another post), then why does everyone keep going and coming back and saying how badly it sucks? The point you keep missing is, I have no bone to pick with the place. Hell, I want it to be a great place to hang out. I've just never had a good experience there and I've been there multiple times, during different times of the year and on different days/nights. So when, exactly, does it NOT suck other than a couple of days/nights when other big things are happening in the down town area? Honestly, I'd like to know because I haven't seen it and everyone I know (besides you) says the same thing about it.

I guess you're right and everyone else is wrong...
