I agree fsu813, they are making an effort to refurbish downtown, but it makes me wonder how the effort is progressing when the landing is so bare. I would love to see a thriving downtown. Take Orlando, for example, they refurbished downtown and it is now flourishing. It can happen. I think a big draw would be a movie theatre and some dance/social clubs. They could make it similar to Citywalk. Also, they could take better advantage of the fact that it is on the bank of one of the most beautiful rivers in the world. I just would hate to see a company like Fuddruckers come into a new market where it isn't widely known and have to struggle for business due to location. It would be better for a more established company to try the downtown gig. By the way, just an update... I sent an email to Fuddruckers management and they said they have no plans in the future to enter the Jacksonville market. I guess Hilton Head or Orlando is the best bet. Maybe we can still hold out for an IKEA ;-)
