I would also vote for Vystar. They are friendly and easy to deal with and have branches as well as ATMs all over town. They charge no fee for their standard checking and savings accounts and are willing to work out any problems with you one-on-one.

Also check out Community First. I've been a member for 18 years and have been very happy with them. A credit union is the way to go!

I am a Vystar member and I have no problems with them at all..... but...... once I got turned on to USAA Credit Union online, I was hooked. I NEVER go to Vsytar for anything. As long as you have a scanner or smart phone to take picture of checks you want to scan.....you're in business.

Newporttom - I have been with USAA for nearly 2 years for day to day banking, but have always kept a local C.U relationship for purpose of when I need to make cash deposit, or things I cant do virtually(though that is shrinking now). Also, since I am not prior military, I dont get all the benefits that USAA offers their full members, like car loans, car insurance etc, and credit unions always offer great products on the loan side of things.

I too have been a Community First CU member for many years (since it was Educational Community CU) and their customer service is great. The Publix ATMs have free usage and there are several branches around town. We only have to visit the branch to make IRA deposits/transfers or one-time check deposits. I've heard good things about Vystar as well, so I would go with whatever branch is most convenient. There is no difference in CD rates or any other benefits. We will never go back to a bank. Back in the 70s, the NY county I worked for established an employees credit union. My account number was and still is 21 - ha ha. That's how long I've enjoyed being a member of a credit union.

I've loved Community First since it was Educational Community Credit Union years ago...I bet Vystar is great but Community First has never given me any reason to look elsewhere.
