The olives, spices and canned food are good at Hala, but everything else is not good at all. Many of there products do not have a sell by or made on date and plently of food I have bought from there was, without a doubt, expired. I'd like to support them, but I will not waste my money on useless foods.

I'm sorry that you had that experience. It has not been mine.

Those who are not really familiar with middle eastern foods, they have an extensive hot buffet at lunch during the week (not sure about weekends) and it is a great way to try different recipes.

There's also a shop across from Hala's on San Jose. The store is M & M imports. She sells olives in the barrels, large and small green olives. Next to Big Lots. They're good and she's really nice.
