How do each of you mitigate the summer heat/humidity in Florida? do you just sit inside with the AC? do you go to a pool/beach and sit in the water? do you go somewhere else for a while to escape it?

When in JAX I sat very still without moving except for my mouth. My mouth was busy gulping ice cold beer.

We pretty much live on the sailboat, at the pool, or at the beach.

Spend the entire summer at the club, on the beach, under an umbrella waiting for my drink order to arrive.

We go to the pool, but for the most part I don't try to beat the heat, I embrace it. I like to go for a run or play tennis for hours in the hot sun. The hotter the better.

I live 1/2 mile from the water's edge at the beach. The sea breeze is a lifesaver in the summer and I spend time at the beach whenever possible! My daughter lives in the middle of the state in Gainesville. The heat there is oppressive. When I am there, I move as little as possible during the day when outdoors and sit under a large tree.

I don't feel as though I do anything out of the ordinary to live with our Summer weather. I like to keep my home AC set on around 77-78, unless we have visitors in the house. Keeping it at that temp with the AC will help to keep the humidity levels down. I definitely use my ceiling fans, since the moving air will keep me comfortable, too. When I'm working in the yard, I just drink plenty of water and expect to sweat. If there's a light breeze, my wet shirt will help keep me cool, as well.
