Lightbulb Pictures of Downtown, Cummer Arts Museum & University of FL

I finally ended my stubborness & learned how to use Photobucket!

I visited the Cummer Arts Museum's Gardens a few weeks ago & wanted to share the pictures I took. I really enjoyed the museum, I highly recommend it. Also, I went out to take a look at the University of North FL in Jacksonville and included those pictures, also.

As someone who's been away since 1995 those pictures are GREAT !!. I see the new Fuller Warren Bridge and also what i notice is PALM TREES as back in the 90's and 80's when i lived there you never seen any as you had to venture down to south florida for that. I also seen some giant cranes so are they building more skyscapers ??

Again as a former Jacksonvillian i really appreciate the pics.....

I hope to be out there soon.....

There is quite a bit of construction in that area, you can see that the city is growing. There are so many new & exciting attractions. I'm not a Jacksonville resident, however, so I can't really say anything in-depth. It would just be speculation & I don't want to get into trouble w/ the Jax board!

You're welcome for the pics. It's always fun to share!

Good luck w/ your trip back.

Thank you for these wonderful pictures! I can hardly wait to be back in Jax (next month! ).

Btw - William Morgan is one of my favorite architects. I don't like everything he built, but I especially love the five homes on the north side of 19th Street in Atlantic Beach. I go there every time I visit. He also built my favorite Ponte Vedra beach house, the Williamson residence:

I know - those kind of old and modest homes are not very popular these days, but I love them.

Connie, midcentury architecture fan

I'm a Frank Lloyd Wright fan myself. There really aren't many architects as there were in the mid-century. To me, modern architecture has very little character. I'd take old & modest any day.
