Hi!

My In-Laws are planning to move to Jacksonville from Gallatin, TN in about a month and I need some help finding the right area for them. My Father-In-Law will be working near 95&10 off Cantee Street. They are in their mid-50's and raising their 13 year old Grandson, so they will need a good middle and high school. They have always lived about 45 mins from major cities, (Atlanta & Nashville) and prefer a home with more land. They are not really the city-dwelling type and have always commuted about 45 mins to work, so that is no problem. They will be renting for the first year until they figure everything out.

What is a good area for them based on their style?
How much are rentals in this area?
What are good middle and high schools in Jacksonville?
They have 2 older medium-size basset hounds, do most rentals accept pets?
Does anyone know of a nice small to medium sized Catholic church in Jacksonville they can refer?

Thank you for all your help!

Kirsten

I don't live there and have never been there, but we may be moving there in 3 years. Based on what I have read here, it sounds like Fruit Cove or Fleming Island may tick all your boxes.

While Fruitcove and Fleming Island are nice rural areas to live the commute to the middle of Jacksonville (95 and 10) would be horrific for me. It would also be a little more expensive in that area. I grew up in the Northside myself (Oceanway) and feel there and possibly Nassau County. Westside close to Baldwin or Maxville could be more to their liking as they would likely have rentals with some yard or acreage. I am sure some others will be able to give you some links on schools in the various areas that would be suitable for the child.
