Question about Bahri Dental group and Dentists in 32256
I went to Bahri yesterday for a check up and was informed that I need two crowns replaced. This is the first dentist I have seen in JAX so before I get work like this done I would like to get some feedback from folks who have had work done at Bahri, and other Dentists in the 32256 zip. Especially interested in dentists who will process secondary dental insurance for you. Thanks in advance for the help.

Get a second opinion. Try David @ Associates on San Jose Blvd.

One of the wonderful things about dentistry is that there are many different opinions on how to treat the same thing. This is very confusing to patients. Many dentist dont want to tell their patients that their crowns need to be replaced because they know the patient is going to not like the news because its expensive and painful. However, if the crown needs to be replaced, it is his moral/ethical obligation to tell you that. Crowns do not last as long as they should. American dentist are sending their work out to foreign labs in record numbers, and you know what? the quality (for the most part) is terrible. There is a HUGE difference in the labs used by dentist. Be very careful about wanting to go to a dentist just becuase he is on your plan. Dental insurance is NOT your friend, and I could explain ad nauseam as to why its not, but there is a reason I am not apart of any plan. They hurt you and they hurt me, the ONLY ONE who wins is the insurance company. Now obviously I have gone off on quite a tangent but this really strikes a nerve w/ me (hard to tell Ill bet). Bottom line is yes, most dentist are well off yes, but its not (for the most part) becuase they are falsley diagnosing treatment. If your dentist tells you you need your crown replaced than you most likely do. If you do not trust him either find a new dentist all together or as someone pointed out go get a second opion. And.... end rant. Thank you.

I don't believe at any point that I, or the other person that responded to my post, questioned anyone's ethics, or accused anyone of falsely diagnosing my condition. Crown replacement is a major deal and as I would for any expensive and important health care procedure I want a second opinion before its done. And if it needs to be done I want to make sure that I am going to the best practicioner for my procedure. I have never dealt with this company before and I have no idea what their reputation is. I have asked others who have had dealing with this company for their opinions, and opinions of other dentists in the area so that I may make an informed choice. I don't see why that would strike a nerve.

No, not you. You did not strike a nerve w/ me. It had more to do w/ insurance companies. Heavens no, I was not trying to offend you at all. Please do not read it as such. And I did not think you were questioning his ethics, I was speaking more in generalities. Dr. Bahri is well respected in the dental community. I do not know him personally, but he is well respected in the dental commmunity, and you are in good hands. Please forgive me if I have offended you, that was not my intent.

My husband actually went to Dr. Sami Bahri (in Baymeadows) for many years and had at least 1 crown and a couple of fillings during that time. He liked Dr. Bahri very much (he did not like the big room with cubicles) and is very happy with the work performed. At that time Dr. Bahri's office was only only a couple of miles from my husband's office, unfortunately that is no longer the case. It has been at least 4-5 years since he last went to Dr. Bahri, but we are pretty sure he did file secondary insurance.
