Early termination rental contract (home, tenant, income)

Alothough our tenant has not shared any information with us regarding his termination of lease 5 months early (according to contract) he has told our original rental agent that as of this coming month he is leaving.

We do have a 2 month penalty agreement in our contract which he signed.

My question is: Does he have to give US advance notice of his intentions if there is not a clause to that effect in our contract with him?

Since he has not had the courtesy to share any information with us, where do we stand regarding: 1. His security deposit. 2. Our ability to relist the home.

Aside from our loss of income if the home does not quickly rent, we are not really sad that he is leaving since he has not been prompt when paying each month.

Not sure how long it may take to find another tenant--previously it has been on the market, empty, for about a month or so. (Larger home on acreage in Central Florida)
