I stopped alongside the road on Sunbeam to get some firewood today and it cost $10. I only had a twenty and the man didn't have change. Without skipping a beat, he said, "That's okay, just bring it by when you have it." He didn't even know me!

So we got to talking and he pointed out a couple of guys on the other side of the street. He told me that he had been on that corner for ten years and now they are over there trying to get his customers. I asked if he had seen any of his customers go over there and he said just one guy and the guy thought it was his wood, but now only goes to him.

The man's name is Robert. And Jedadiah loaded the wood into my car. Very nice guys.

If anyone needs firewood, this is the place to go. If you've traveled on Sunbeam, you have seen him. A few blocks east of the post office (toward Philips), on the south side of the street.

Really refreshing to read a thread like this one for a change. Thanks for putting the spotlight on a couple of hard working guys making an honest living. And trusting a total stranger with his money at that! Just shows that we shouldn't use too broad a brush when we talk about the less privileged people here in Jax, or anywhere else.

Almost makes me wish I had a fireplace.
