Jacksonville - Attorney job market
We are considering moving to Jacksonville and was wondering if anyone had an opinion on the job market for attorneys in the area?
Thanks.

My husband is a counsel. He said they are looking for an attorney but I forgot what type of lawyer they are looking for.
There are definitely less legal jobs in Jacksonville, compare to New York but there must be openings.

Thanks for your reply. We would specifically be looking for Labor and Employment Law positions.

NOOOOOOO! The last thing this wonderful city needs is more lawyers!
Just kidding, of course.

Also interested in Jacksonville
I just stumbled across this thread, and it appears that there are a few knowledgeable people in Jacksonville willing to help new lawyers navigate the legal scene.
I'm a third-year law student at the University of Florida. This past summer, I worked with an excellent plaintiff's firm in Jacksonville, and I'm very interested in returning to the city to practice law and lay down some roots. I am especially interested in plaintiff work, and I'd like to do something with PI, Employment/Labor, or a related field. How is the market for those areas of practice? Which firms are most likely to hire new associates? Any firms to avoid? What kinds of pro bono opportunities can I find in Jacksonville? I'd really like to get involved. I look forward to your thoughts. Thanks.

Hi there, i am an attorney with a couple of years experience moving to Jax from LA; i am not barred yet in Florida and wanted to know what the job market is in Jax for attorneys and whether there are any firms that you recommend.
